In this episode the guys break down five common hypertrophy study findings that do not hold up in the real world — why 15-20 sets per body part per week works in 8-12 week studies but burns out real people within months, why light weight and heavy weight producing the same results ignores how fatigue affects the big compound lifts, why training close to failure being essential misses how powerlifters and Olympic lifters build world-class physiques without it, why frequency not mattering is a study artifact that disappears when you control for real world volume, and why periodization making no difference only holds up because studies are too short.

  1. I think one of the biggest problems with a lot of these studies is that they train a SINGLE muscle. Sure, if you only calves it might make sense to do 30 sets per week but that’s not at all the same as training all your muscles for 30 sets.

  2. Sal has turned into the worst type of Christian, manipulating the data to promote his Christian views. Nobody in Canada killed Grandma Sal. And there are far more deaths related to guns in America than assisted suicides in Canada. These type of claims make me not trust this podcast anymore, so disappointing after listening for almost 7 years.

  3. 50 yr old woman trainning for about 2 yrs. i saw ZERO results with low volume and long rests in between sets. the minute I upped my sets and reps and cut my rest in between sets i FINALLY saw my butt, quads, hammies delts, EVERYTHING. I want to grow muscle not strength trainning!!

  4. Bro, I am 48, been doing 15-20 sets per body part each week for two years and have seen excellent results. My body loves it. I don’t feel overtrained at all, get great sleep, joints feel amazing, etc

  5. I’m a doctor, and ‘Buried Health Secrets’ by Daniel Harris is one of the rare books that can truly transform people’s lives. Nothing else compares.

  6. No one should be forced but I respect being able to decide for yourself how you want to live or die. I don’t want to be bedridden in a diaper or have no idea who my loved ones even are. What kind of life is that? Why would you force someone to live like that? If you want to, totally fine but why would you force me to?

  7. leaves have a lot of nutritional benefits!!!Arugala has vitaminK, has a tremendous amount of nitric oxide.romaine has Vit A, C folate. add broccoli sprouts and pomegranate seeds and you have a nitric oxide powerhouse. kale and spinach have an enormous amount of nutritional benefits. add a piece of grilled chicken and a great EEvo and ACV with the mother and youre setting yourself up for success

  8. You’re actually comparing the numbers of firearm deaths in which case the majority of those are actual victims to people that are choosing death? Ever heard the term consent?

  9. Funny how he thinks that older Christians that go to church haven’t had sex with anyone else as if they couldn’t have a past! A lot of of those older Christians weren’t Christians when they were younger. And if they are saying, it’s the best sex, they can compare to their past as they have been doing it for decades.

  10. Caller Cole – parathyroid is NOT thyroid. Please watch your calcium as HYPO PARA THYROIDISM can mess you up!! Brain fog, extreme fatigue, heat/cold intolerance are just a few symptoms. There is no hormone replacement therapy readily accessible for the Parathyroid. Find a good endocrinologist that knows the difference between thyroid and parathyroid. Best of luck to you.

  11. I will be doing 25 sets of chest legs and back per week 16 sets for shoulders 12 sets for triceps and 10 sets for biceps. Training each muscle group once per week and my rest time will be 30 to 60 seconds on upper body 60 to 90 seconds on lower body.
Forgot to mention I’m 50 years old and have been lifting for nearly 30 years and I’m natural. Also will be doing 8 to 12 reps per set for upper body 12 to 20 reps per set for lower body per Nash Jocics recommendation

  12. The way Adam sits has started to bother me. This is probably a sign of old age and yes, I'm 56 years old. But really, why is he slouching the way he is? Compared to Sal who is sitting up straight and looking like he's in command, Adam looks like a angsty teenager who doesn't care to be there. Is it weak core or is he just exhausted by his low calory diet? Knowing how strong he is, is strange how he's holding himself up – or rather not holding.

  13. Y’all should totally do the pants trend and then when you land, you could roll right into a Vuori add by posting another video about how glad you are to get back into your nice comfy Vuori pants
